She always dreamed of being in the circus
and grew to juggle men effortlessly
Carefully keeping one in the air at all times
The ones in her hand reveled in her touch
So much
She tamed the wild ones
They loved the way she rode them
Thought her so pretty sitting up there
Beauty and the beast - pity
They only beasts
While she
Had demons waging war within her
always thought animals could sense danger
I guess my scent masks my capabilities
Making them susceptible to heart injury
They loved her smell & sway
She sashayed so gracefully
Precariously perched on tightrope lines rehearsed a thousand times so they sounded like truth
They jumped through hoops of fire to acquire her affection
Confectionary treats filled with nothings but sweet whispers made you crave deliciousness
of sugar blown kisses with hopes of entering her tent
She painted her face an appealing appearance of happiness
Always carried red lipstick
Masking the blues beneath the visage
The world’s greatest illusionist

Short Poem - Your 3 friends
You fill each minute with sixty seconds Spent creating a maze of moaning Then wonder why your throat hurts True voice lurks within the labyrinth You fill each hour with sixty minutes Lamenting lack of power, wishing you owned And wonder why you can’t pull yourself out of the holes you dig You’re miserable And wonder why Sadness, Pity and Helplessness call you friend Nicknamed you Penguin Flightless one You’ve given your time to slippery slopes Self worth was shed with the feathers I picked them up for you Glued them to your memory Glided through time to return your wings Now you gaze at the sky Fly out of your hole And no longer recognize your old friends. __________________________________________Haiku / Senryu (17 syllables of mind wanderings)
